Prolibac

Biodegradation of fats and oils

Enzymatic-bacterial fat degradation in fat separators and wastewater treatment plants

Prolibac is a powerful enzyme/bacterial preparation specifically designed for the biodegradation of vegetable and animal fats (without mineral oils) in wastewater systems. It is used in grease separators and wastewater treatment plants to ensure smooth operation, prevent blockages and reduce odour emissions. Prolibac builds up a stable, self-sustaining bacterial flora in the treated system, effectively reducing the fats and oils produced.

Enzymes break down the long molecular chains of the fats and food residues. The cleavage products are now broken down by the microorganisms into gas (methane, CO2) and water. The fat crusts are liquefied, broken down and the volume is significantly reduced.

The volumes of grease layer, foam and sediments are significantly reduced, thus optimising the flow and enabling low-disturbance operation. The emptying intervals for the grease separator are reduced to a minimum and, ideally, are even eliminated altogether. Used in wastewater treatment plants, the product ensures optimised cleaning performance of the biological treatment stage, especially in the case of high or irregular fat input.
