Protect yourself from tick bites
|
Tick-borne diseases such as borreliosis, ehrlichiosis or FSM are
on the rise worldwide. Just about every fifth tick is a carrier
of the borreliosis bacteria. There is a protective vaccine
against FSM, but no vaccination is available yet against Lyme
disease. Tick repellents should be applied before going
outdoors, particularly in shrubby or woody areas. If possible,
wear white clothing, long sleeves and trousers. Carefully check
your body for ticks after being outdoors.
